The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has announced a decision to evacuate all mission members from Ukraine as soon as it is safe to do so. This was reported by the press service of the organization.

OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid said the evacuation should take place as soon as possible. According to her, this measure is dictated by the fact that hostilities do not stop and the security situation in Ukraine is getting worse.

Earlier, the OSCE condemned Russia’s recognition of the independence of the LPR and DPR and demanded “immediately cancel” this decision. In a statement, Chairman Zbigniew Rau and Helga Maria Schmid noted that such a move by Moscow contradicts the Minsk agreements and increases tension in the region. They pointed out that the Russian Federation “undertook obligations to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries.”

Recall that on February 24, the President of the Russian Federation made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”

According to the Russian leader, the plans of the Russian Federation “do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories,” however, “the Russian Federation considers it important that all the peoples of Ukraine can exercise the right of self-determination.”
