The UK government introduces a limit on the amount of money that Russian citizens can keep in accounts in British banks.

As stated in the message of the British Foreign Office, the limit will be 50 thousand pounds ($66.8 thousand) in bank accounts.

Earlier it was reported that the British authorities also intend to impose blocking sanctions against VTB and Aeroflot. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the coordinated sanctions would include phasing out Russian oil and gas.

London imposes sanctions on the work of Aeroflot and freezes all assets of VTB Bank and prohibits the export of high-tech products from the Russian Federation.

UAC (United Aircraft Corporation), USC (United Shipbuilding Corporation), Uralvagonzavod and Rostec were on the “black list”.

Under the British sanctions will fall, in particular, Kirill Shamalov and the chairman of the board of VTB Bank Denis Bortnikov.

Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia.”
