After two complex years, with ups and downs due to outbreaks of COVID-19 infections, the Ecuadorian tourism sector hopes that this carnival holiday will present clear symptoms of recovery.
The main cities that have traditionally received tourists have prepared agendas in order to attract part of these visitors.
“We hope that the carnival holiday will be the best in the last five years,” said Niels Olsen, Minister of Tourism.
The Government has estimated a movement of $70 million for these days, partly stimulated by a drop in VAT from 12% to 8%.
It is estimated that these days there are more than 1.2 million trips to the main tourist cities.
These are some of the main events by province for this holiday.

Salinas
The Municipality will organize a fair for entrepreneurs in which visitors will find gastronomy, handicrafts, jewelry and more. The activity, called Carnival Fes 2022, will take place on February 26, 27 and 28 and March 1 on the boardwalk.

There will be a concert with the Venezuelan artist Nacho, who will perform at El Tablazo hill, on Monday, February 28, starting at 6:00 p.m.
