The US has imposed sanctions against 11 legal entities, including a number of Russian banks. This is reported by the US Treasury.

All US financial institutions were ordered to close correspondent accounts of the sanctioned Sberbank within 30 days, the US Treasury Department said. Shares of Sberbank meanwhile collapsed by more than 30%.
The department added that US sanctions are directed against almost 80% of banking assets in Russia.
The ban on raising capital through the issuance of debt and shares applies to Gazprom, Gazprombank, Gazpromneft, Transneft, Rosselkhozbank, Rostelecom, RusHydro, ALROSA, Sovcomflot, Russian Railways.
The new sanctions list also includes Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank, as well as Andrey Puchkov and Yury Solovyov, members of VTB management, and his wife Galina Ulyutina. In addition, the United States imposes sanctions against the sons of the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for environmental protection, ecology and transport, Sergei Ivanov, the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, and the Secretary of the Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown, wrote that new US sanctions against Russia would affect banks, oil companies, Russian entrepreneurs, and even President Vladimir Putin personally.
US President Joe Biden himself, speaking about the possibility of imposing sanctions against his Russian colleague, replied that the restrictions “are not rejected, they are on the table.”
He also said that SThe United States is freezing US assets of four Russian banks, including VTB, for $1 trillion. According to Biden, the new US sanctions will also affect the debt obligations of the largest Russian state-owned companies.
