Formula 1 racing team Haas has announced that it will compete in Barcelona with a white car and no Russian company Uralkali sponsorship logos.

This decision was made by the American team, which includes the Russian racer Nikita Mazepin, in connection with the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

“Nikita Mazepin will attend the morning session as planned,” Haas said in a statement. In addition, it is noted that “there will be no further comments on the agreement with partners.”

On Thursday, Haas withdrew from press briefings. Nikita Mazepin did not speak to reporters in the evening, and team leader Gunther Steiner missed a press conference in the middle of the day.

Early Thursday morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia,” adding that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.”
