The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) issued the guidelines for administering the booster dose against COVID-19 to older adults.
About 330,000 doses against the coronavirus have been applied in Ecuador in the last week within a new stage of the vaccination plan that includes health personnel already children under 12 years old.
The process of a third dose is started last Monday and is currently aimed at health personnel who treated the pandemic in hospitals, while beginning with the inoculation of children between 5 and 11 years.
According to him Ministry of Public Health (MSP), have already been placed 18,560 booster doses al health personnel, out of a universe of 110,000 people, and 311,202 first doses have been administered to children of less than 12 years.

According to the MSP guidelines, the booster vaccination for over 65s will be done with the vaccine AstraZeneca, regardless of the vaccine received before, i.e. Pfizer, Sinovac or AstraZeneca, while for those over 12 years old with immunosuppression will be with same vaccine that they received previously, be this Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca, and it must be done, said that State portfolio, only in cases where the patient’s condition is certified.
