Body of a man shot was found in the northwest hill of Guayaquil

A corpse with gunshot wounds was found on a hill that borders the sectors of Socio Vivienda and Nueva Prosperina, in the northwest of Guayaquil, on the morning of this Tuesday 26.

According to the Police, a girl who was walking in the area gave the alert about the presence of the corpse.

After that, police units from different units mobilized to the area to initiate investigations into this new violent death.

According to what was collated by experts from Criminalistics, Mario Castro, chief of operations for the Nueva Prosperina District, indicated that apparently the victim was murdered in another place and only the body was left on that hill.

“They found six percussion pods, not all of them could have hit the body. What is worrying, like the event we had yesterday (two assassinated in the Casuarina), is that they are long weapons (rifles) ”, he said.

Last Monday afternoon, two citizens were murdered in the Unidos por la Paz sector, located near Casuarina Avenue, also known as Entrada de la 8, in the northwest of the city. In that attack, subjects used rifles to end the lives of both men, according to investigations by the authorities.

For now, the Police are conducting analyzes to identify the victim of the recent violent death.

The body was transferred to the Laboratory of Forensic and Criminal Sciences of the Judicial Police. (I)
