Figure skater Kamila Valieva shared her impressions of the Beijing Olympics in her blog.
“My first Olympics is finally over, and I want to thank those who led me to this most important event in the life of an athlete – my coaches: Eteri Georgievna Tutberidze, Sergey Viktorovich Dudakov, Daniil Markovich Gleikhengauz,” she wrote on Instagram.
According to the 15-year-old athlete, her mentors “not only train, but also teach to overcome oneself,” which helps both in sports and in life.
“With you by my side, I feel protected and able to pass any test. Thank you for helping me to be strong, ”the figure skater addressed the coaches.
Recall that the Russian national team, consisting of 15-year-old Kamila Valieva, took gold on February 7. At the same time, the figure skater, who performed against the background of a doping scandal, became the fourth in individual competitions.
The positive test of the figure skater, which she passed on December 25 at the Russian Championship, became known on February 8. IOC spokesman Denis Oswald reported that the banned substance could have entered Valieva’s body along with the product that her grandfather used.
The IOC President called the Valieva doping scandal “the sad story of the Beijing Olympics.”
