Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba asked the UN Security Council to hold security consultations within the framework of the Budapest Memorandum. He wrote about this in his Twitternoting the account of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In his message, Kuleba emphasized that he officially appeals to the members of the UN Security Council with a request to hold consultations immediately in order to discuss urgent actions and practical steps to de-escalate the conflict and the security of Ukraine.
Earlier, Dmitry Kuleba said that the European Union would deploy a non-combat advisory and training mission in Ukraine. This decision was announced by a representative of the department in Brussels following a meeting with the heads of the ministries of foreign affairs of the EU states. He stressed that a fundamental decision had already been made on the issue of the mission.
According to Kuleba, the EU countries will also provide Ukraine with a number of proposals to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity.
We add that now the situation around Ukraine has escalated due to shelling, and the LPR and DPR have announced general mobilization, the population is being evacuated to Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that today he will make a decision on the recognition of the independence of the DNR and LNR. He stated this after the meeting of the Security Council.
