National Police personnel arrested three people in different operations in the center of Guayaquil, last weekend. One of them was identified as the material author of the crime of the Dutch citizen who was shot inside a bar on Santa Ana Hill, in the center of the city, last January.
Apparently, the foreigner would have objected to a robbery and was shot.
On Sunday night, police officers from the preventive axis set up a routine operation and asked a motorcyclist for documentation, who presented a piece of paper with the name Carlos Xavier Quezada Acosta.
However, when checking the Police computer system, the agents detected that he was carrying a false identification, since the person with that name was listed as deceased, said Colonel Víctor Zárate, commander of Zone 8 of the National Police.
After that, the individual was taken to personnel from Criminalistics and the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) for the respective biometric controls, which determined that his real identity was Carlos Efraín AB, who had a valid arrest warrant due to his connection with the murder of the aforementioned foreigner.

In the case of the Dutchman’s crime, another person was arrested in recent days as a co-author of the criminal act, said Zárate, who added that with this arrest the apprehension of both involved in the crime is achieved.
The alleged perpetrator was presented this morning at the Cuartel Modelo.

In parallel, after investigative work, the Police managed to arrest a couple (a man and a woman) who were traveling in a vehicle with a firearm that would be used to commit a violent act.

In the power of the apprehended man, a pistol, caliber 9 millimeters, and ten ammunition were found.
According to the Police, both would be members of the Chone Killer group and performed logistical support functions in specific tasks dictated by the gang’s leaders.
One of the detainees, Oswaldo LV, has four priors, for drug trafficking, attempted murder, robbery and illicit association. The woman apprehended is Evelyn ZZ, who has no court records.
The suspects, as well as the evidence found in their possession, were brought before the competent judge to resolve their legal situation. (I)
