The United States and its allies are ready to respond not only to a hypothetical Russian attack on Ukraine, which is expected any day, but also to a “medium boiling” situation. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in an interview with the CBS television channel, which reported today, citing anonymous intelligence, that the Russian command had received an order to attack Ukraine.
“We talked about this in detail with allies and partners over the weekend,” RIA Novosti quotes the words of the head of the State Department. “A scenario in which Russia leaves the situation at a low or medium boiling point, the answer will be for that as well.”
For the fourth month now, the world media has been reporting on a hypothetical Russian invasion of Ukraine, “scheduled” for the winter months of 2021-2022. The situation is “heated up” both by the joint exercises of Russia and Belarus, which they see as a threat to security in Ukraine, and the aggravation of the conflict in the Donbass, where general mobilization has been announced and the elderly, women and children are being evacuated to the Russian regions.
