More than 10,000 people signed the petition of the Yabloko party against the war with Ukraine. Among them are People’s Artist of the USSR Oleg Basilashvili, director Konstantin Bronzit, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei Arbatov, musicians Alexander Kutikov (“Time Machine”), Maxim Leonidov (“Secret”), writer Lev Rubinstein and other famous personalities – scientists, politicians, artists.
“Any outcome of the war will be a disaster for Russia,” the authors of the petition emphasize, recalling both the dire economic consequences that will affect every citizen of the Russian Federation and the grief of mothers, wives and children who will mourn their loved ones on both sides of the Russian-Ukrainian border. .
“A new round of the arms race will begin and the Cold War will flare up – everything that caused the collapse of the USSR, the likelihood of a world war will increase sharply,” the authors of the petition recall. “Each of us, each of you, bears the full responsibility for ensuring that this does not happen.”
