Senescyt opens a new application process this October 27 and 28; there are still 17,000 spots

Applicants may freely and voluntarily choose between 1 and 5 career options.

On Wednesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 28, the third application for university places of the second academic cycle of 2021 will be opened.

On this occasion, there will be 17,242 places available for those who have already taken the Transform test, said Alejandro Ribadeneira, head of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt).

The Transformar test, which was taken by around 220,000 applicants, reveals 50% of the score that is considered for the allocation of quotas to public higher education. The rest of the note is built from the sum of the academic background, additional points and affirmative action policies, if applicable.

Applicants may freely and voluntarily choose between one and five career options.

On October 31 and November 1, a new process for accepting quotas will open.

Within this second academic period, 223 higher education institutions offer 118,633 places in 367 majors. The rest of the available places have been distributed in the two previous application periods.

The Senescyt reported that in the online academic offer there was an increase of 51%; that is, twelve universities and 31 higher technical and technological institutes offered 21,786 places in this modality.

For the application it is important that the applicant reviews the referential score of the careers. This is the historical average of the marks achieved since the implementation of the National Leveling and Admission System implemented since 2012.

The educational offer of the higher centers is available on the website https://transformar.senescyt.gob.ec, where the application is also made. (I)
