President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called accusations of Russia in the shelling of Donbass a “lie and a provocation”.

“They showed some shells that they came from our side, and then they showed that something flew into the Rostov region, this is all a provocation … There are no dead, there is no one injured. This is just cynicism of such a level that they undermine something on their own,” he said in his speech at the Munich Security Conference.

The Ukrainian leader noted that it would be illogical for Kiev to “shoot and offer diplomacy,” Interfax-Ukraine reports. He recalled that he offered Russia to choose any platform for peace talks.

“Ukraine wants peace. Europe wants peace. The world says it does not want to fight, and Russia does not want to attack,” Zelensky said.

The head of state assured that Ukraine “will return the occupied territories, but only in a peaceful way.”

He also stated that if the summit of the countries of the Budapest Memorandum does not take place or does not give Kiev security guarantees, then he will invalidate the document.
