Two men were killed in Ricaurte (San Lorenzo), on the northern border, and in the 50 Casas neighborhood, in the south of the city of Esmeraldas, this Friday night.
The first victim was identified as Jefferson Rodríguez Borja, 39 years old. He received several bullet wounds that came from individuals who were traveling on a motorcycle.
It happened in the 50 Casas neighborhood, after 8:00 p.m. A nephew who was with him at the time of the attack told the police officers that his uncle was talking with some friends when he was shot several times.
The attackers fled on the same motorcycle along a road adjacent to the Teaone River.

Rodríguez was taken to the Esmeraldas Delfina Torres South Hospital, but would have arrived without vital signs due to the bullets that hit his abdomen and left shoulder. The man had a criminal record, according to the police database.
While on the entrance road of the Ricaurte parish, on the northern border of the province, the body of a man with two gunshot wounds was found, after 9:00 p.m. this Friday. The body was on the road and it was expected this Saturday to verify his identification.
This week, Esmeraldas, a province that borders Colombia, had reported 37 violent deaths. Last year, in this same period, it only counted ten cases. It is the fourth province with the most violent deaths in the country. (I)
