At military training grounds throughout Ukraine, measures are being taken to prepare military units and subunits for combat missions. It is reported by UNIAN with reference to the information of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
According to the commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Sergei Naev said that the exercises should increase the level of professional training of personnel. The military also got the opportunity to work out interaction with units of both the national Armed Forces and other components of the defense and security forces of the state.
As Naev noted, the units are improving the capabilities of defense, air defense of units, military facilities and civilian infrastructure, the actions of anti-landing and anti-tank reserves, as well as fire destruction of a mock enemy.
Naev noticed that all personnel fit into the deadlines for completing tasks. The teachings continue.
The heads of the self-proclaimed republics of the DPR and LPR announced a general mobilization. Mobilization was announced “to repel aggression.” Men aged 18 to 55 are drafted into the army, who are registered with the military, as well as in the reserve. They are forbidden to leave the republic. Government agencies are allowed to seize vehicles and “other property necessary for defense needs” from enterprises, organizations and citizens. The decree comes into force on February 19.
The day before, the leaders of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR announced an emergency evacuation of civilians to the Rostov region.
