The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, signed a decree on general mobilization. He stated this in a video message.
“I call on fellow countrymen who are in reserve to come to the military commissariats … I appeal to all the men of the Republic who are able to hold weapons in their hands to stand up for their families, their children, wives, mothers. Together we will achieve the desired and necessary victory for all of us. We will protect Donbass and all Russian people,” Pushilin said.
He added that the republic “will be able to contain the aggression of Kiev”, no matter what scenario events develop.
Pushilin said that in recent days several attempts of terrorist attacks by the Ukrainian special services have been prevented in the republic.
Earlier, the leaders of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR announced an emergency evacuation of civilians to the Rostov region. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to pay each refugee arriving in the border Rostov region from Donbass 10,000 rubles each and sent acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan to the region. Kiev denies reports of offensive operations in Donbass.
