“I don’t count on the judicial prospect of the case”: the lawyer of the leader of the Tambov organized criminal group Vladimir Barsukov caught the investigation in red tape

The defense side of the leader of the Tambov organized criminal group, businessman Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin), received the first materials of the criminal case for familiarization. Konstantin Kuzminykh, the defendant’s lawyer, told a Rosbalt correspondent that the investigation could drag on for another year.

The documents mention Barsukov’s accusation of instigating two murders in 2000: his former bodyguard Georgy Pozdnyakov, as well as his godson Yan Gurevsky. Also, the leader of the organized criminal group is considered guilty of complicity in the illegal circulation of firearms.

According to the Kuzmins, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation completed the investigation back in September, after the defense won the red tape case. In January, the lawyer and the accused received the first ten volumes of the criminal case.

“There is no need to get to know them. These are orders to extend the investigation period. Until they give us new volumes, so much time will pass. They will wear a teaspoon per hour, and then, I believe, the prosecutor’s office will return this stupid case for further investigation. Therefore, I have no serious grounds to count on the judicial prospect of this case, ”said the lawyer.

He suggested that the parties may not go to the judicial stage in 2022.

We add that for the first time the investigation of a criminal case ended ten years earlier, but the prosecutor’s office returned the materials for additional investigation, and then the deadlines were repeatedly extended.

Now Vladimir Barsukov, also known as the “night governor of St. Petersburg”, is serving a sentence on a number of charges: raider seizure of enterprises, raiding, extortion, an attempt on the co-owner of the “Petersburg Oil Terminal” Sergei Vasilyev and the murder of his bodyguard.
