Heavy rainfall is recorded on the afternoon of Thursday, February 17 in the center of Quito. In the San Roque sector, located in the colonial quarter, the rains caused the accumulation of water on Mariscal Sucre and Loja avenues, a few blocks from Plaza 24 de Mayo.
The cameras of the Integrated Security Service ECU911 captured images of the vehicles that circulate along the avenue, in the middle of the high level of water.
The institution recommends that people take precautions and, preferably, take alternate routes. The Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) also suggests avoiding driving through depressed steps and slowing down.
Until 17:30, ECU911 did not report any other news due to the rains in the capital.
According to the weather forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi), rain and drizzle were expected for this afternoon. The minimum temperature in Quito would reach 11.1 degrees Celsius. (I)
