Conocoto Parish, in the southeast of Quito, has a new fire station

On the morning of this Thursday, February 17, 2022, the presentation of the Station No. 24 of the Quito Fire Department (CBQ) in the conocoto parish, in the southeast of the capital.

The investment earmarked for this level 1 category emergency center was $570,000. This is confirmed by a CBQ bulletin.

Stephen Cardenas, CBQ commander, said that 135,000 inhabitants will be served with shorter response times. In addition, he pointed out that the Unit Specialized in Aquatic and Underwater Rescue.

They will also provide pre-hospital care with an ambulance and have 36 officials spread over three schedules.

Mayor Santiago Guarderas attended the inauguration of the place, in his speech he thanked the CBQ for the work carried out in the sector of The Commune and La Gasca, affected by a flood on January 31.

He also stressed that the station was built in a strategic location that will decrease response time in the emergencies that appear in the valley of the Chillos.

Finally, he announced that Road works will begin in March in the rural parishes of the DMQ. (I)
