All political victories and successes of Russia will be paid from the pockets of taxpayers. Oil and gas industry analyst Mikhail Krutikhin stated this in an interview with UGRA.PRO.
The same, according to him, applies to the situation when Gazprom reports that gas will go through the Turkish Stream instead of Ukraine. According to Krutikhin, it is necessary to separate the state need for the armed forces and the needs of the domestic market, the price of which is not regulated by decrees or government decrees.
He also stressed that high gasoline prices are needed to support the military, doctors, teachers, etc. It is unlikely that it will be possible to increase oil production in such a way that it is enough for both export and military needs.
When asked by a journalist about who will eventually pay for everything, Kiev or conditional Voronezh, Krutikhin agreed that the Russian consumer would do it. “We will finance all this – pensioners, doctors, teachers and so on,” he said.
As for the news about the withdrawal of troops, the expert believes that the “military hysteria of Moscow” will eventually come to naught. In his opinion, part of the troops will return, and the tension on the border will decrease, but we should expect new provocations related to the cessation of gas supply. In his opinion, gas supplies to Europe will continue to be used as an instrument of pressure.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow would continue to supply gas through Ukraine even after 2024, provided that there is demand in Europe and the Ukrainian gas transmission system remains operational. He said that last year 50.7 billion cubic meters of Russian gas were supplied to Germany, and the issue of starting supplies via Nord Stream 2 is within the competence of the German regulator.
According to Putin, there is no “political connotation” in the Nord Stream 2 export gas pipeline project. According to the President, the completion of construction and the start of operation of Nord Stream 2 is designed to strengthen energy security in Europe.
