The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation intends to develop a new version of one of the main laws regulating the labor market in Russia – “On Employment”, RBC reports.

The Ministry of Labor, in particular, proposes to adjust the rules for the payment of unemployment benefits and establish labor standards for the self-employed. In addition, the ministry wants to fight illegal employment (shadow employment) and consider it necessary to legislate the powers of authorities at various levels in the field of whitewashing the labor market and the necessary mechanisms.

As expected, the document will be submitted to the State Duma in the autumn session of 2022.

We also recall that earlier the research center “Zarplaty.ru” in the course of a survey found out the reasons why Russians want to quit their jobs. These were the low level of wages and problems with receiving salaries (44% of respondents indicated this), dissatisfaction on the part of the authorities with the quality of work (15%), staff reductions, and the closure of the organization (10%). Another 10% among those wishing to quit their jobs noted a lack of desire to work in a job they do not like.
