At about 09:00 this Wednesday, a road accident was reported in the Ishbug Utucúm sector, Cebadas parish, Guamote canton, Chimborazo province, when a truck went into an abyss in the place.
There was a lot of consternation among the relatives, especially of Mayra Paltán, 27, who was the fatal victim of this incident.
Her cousin Jessy Chávez said that Mayra had just started her work as a teacher at the Child Development Center (CDI) of the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion.
The relatives arrived at the morgue in the Riobamba cemetery to find out details of the accident. In the local media it was said that the teacher had just done her thesis and that she was beginning to work on what was her passion.
The Riobamba ECU911 reported that through the call for help, which was generated at 08:54, help was requested because a truck overturned. The alert indicated that there were people trapped, before which the attention of the relief agencies was coordinated.
“The rescue and medical care tasks made it possible to attend to six people, including five minors and a 22-year-old man. In addition, a woman died. The wounded were admitted to health houses in Cebadas and Riobamba”, indicated the ECU.
He also explained that according to the preliminary indications there was the loss of lane and the overturning of a vehicle that fell into an abyss, that the investigations will allow to know in more detail the responsibilities of the road mishap.
It was also indicated that so far this year, the ECU 911 has coordinated 450 traffic incidents, of which 38 registered injured people and 412 material damage. (I)
