The State Duma adopted in the first reading and in general a bill on the indexation of “military” pensions by 8.6% retroactively – from January 1, 2022, a Rosbalt correspondent reports.

Indexation will be higher than the official inflation rate of 8.4%, recorded at the end of 2021. Increased pensions will be received by former military personnel, police officers, firefighters, drug police, employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Russian Guard, etc.

An additional payment to pensions in the amount of 8.6% of the assigned pension will be made until October 1, 2022, and after this date the amount of monetary allowance taken into account for calculating the pension, the so-called “reducing coefficient”, will be set at 77.41%. Thus, the “reducing factor” relative to January 1, 2022 will increase by 3.41%, which in turn will lead to an increase in the real pension by 4.6% from October 1, 2022, the State Duma explained.

The adoption of the bill will require additional expenses in 2022-2024, which will amount to 154.3 billion rubles.
