The Investigative Committee of the Tambov Region opened a criminal case into the murder of Viktor Vakulchik, deputy head of the regional department of roads and transport. His body with stab wounds was found this morning in the entrance of the apartment building where the victim lived.
“Investigators and criminologists of the regional investigative department continue to work at the scene,” the Investigation Department reports. – In cooperation with employees of the internal affairs bodies, a complex of investigative actions and operational measures are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of this crime and the persons involved in its commission. The investigation is working on various versions of the motives for what happened, including the version that the crime could be related to his official activities.”
Viktor Vakulchik, 56, has been working in government since 2016. Prior to that, he headed the Tambovtrans company, which is engaged in passenger transportation around the city.
