The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine on Facebook called for peace during the Beijing Olympics.
“Olympians of Ukraine are for peace! The Olympic team of Ukraine, defending the honor of the country at the XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, together with their native country, expresses a unanimous call for peace.
The Olympic Committee added that the Olympics have always brought people together.
“We believe in a better and peaceful future,” the text states.
Since 2021, Western media have been reporting on a possible Russian “invasion” of Ukraine. Russia rejects this. However, publications continue to this day. Bloomberg has named the date of the “invasion”. According to the sources of the American agency “familiar with the issue”, we are talking about February 15th. Meanwhile, the Politico newspaper reported that US President Joe Biden, during a videoconference with the leaders of allied countries, said that Russia could allegedly attack Ukraine on February 16. The publication also cites its own sources. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in this regard, asked for evidence of the allegedly planned “invasion” of Russia.
Meanwhile, Strana.ua, citing sources, reported that the airspace of Ukraine would be effectively closed from February 14 due to the actions of Western insurance companies. The interlocutor of the publication noted that the largest British insurers, who reinsure other international companies, sent an official message to all world aircraft owners that insurance coverage for all aircraft in Ukraine would cease to operate in 48 hours. Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the faction of Petro Poroshenko “European Solidarity” Oleksiy Goncharenko admitted that the airspace of Ukraine could indeed be closed.
