Law enforcement agencies have detained a resident of Sredneuralsk (Sverdlovsk region), who killed his wife with a hunting rifle, said Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Gorelykh denied reports of shooting from a window at passers-by. “The owner of the apartment fired two shots: one at his wife, and one more at the closet,” he said.
According to him, after the message that the man killed his wife and wants to shoot himself, the microdistrict was cordoned off. Negotiations were conducted with the suspect for two hours so that he would voluntarily surrender and hand over his firearms. He did not resist the security forces.
In turn, the press service of the regional investigative department of the ICR reported that a criminal case had been opened on the fact on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).
Earlier, citing a source, it was reported that a drunken resident of Sredneuralsk, having quarreled with his wife, shot at her, and then opened fire on passers-by from the window of his apartment.
