The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) issued a weather bulletin for rain and thunderstorms valid until February 15. It is expected that during Saturday the 12th and Tuesday the 15th there will be an increase in the frequency and intensity of rainfall in various sectors of continental Ecuador.
Several atmospheric conditions will be favorable for the occurrence of these episodes, which could occur with greater intensity between Sunday the 13th and Monday the 14th.
In the Coastal region, the events would be scattered and would present their greatest intensity in the interior of the region, where electrical storms are likely. In the Inter-Andean Alley, rainfall will be frequent during this period, with intensities between light to moderate and without ruling out short strong episodes with electrical storms. It is likely that the greatest impact will develop in the north and foothills of the western mountain range.
In the Amazon region, some rainfall is estimated in the foothills of the mountain range and in the southern part of the region.
This is the regional forecast for this Sunday:
Coastal Region
Varying from cloudy to occasional partial cloudy, scattered rains throughout the region with the probability of punctual events of moderate and strong intensity in the interior.
Sierra Region
Varying from cloudy to occasional partial cloudy, scattered rains throughout the region with the possibility of occasional thunderstorms.
Amazon Region
Cloudy with short intervals of sunshine, scattered rains and drizzles in the foothills of the mountain range.
Island region
In much of the region there will be a sky between partly cloudy and slightly cloudy. (I)
