Three men were shot on a field in Las Malvinas, in the south of Guayaquil

The fight between criminal gangs continues in Guayaquil, according to residents and authorities.

Only this Friday the 11th there were four more hired assassins, which brings the number of murders in zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón) to 141.

The most recent case occurred in Las Malvinas, south of Guayaquil, in a field known as La Bombonera. There, three men were shot while they were gathered in that sector. It happened around midnight. The relatives transferred the wounded to the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo hospital and to the Guasmo Hospital (in the south), where they would be under a reserved prognosis.

Police reported that unknown individuals arrived in the area in a vehicle and shot at the men.

The victims were identified as: Mario Ch., 46 years old; Eriberto B., 48, and Geovanny C., 39.

The latter does have a criminal record for drug possession.

Almost at the same time, in the suburb of Guayaquil, there was another attack by hitmen.

It happened at 23rd and Maracaibo, two blocks from where another crime was reported a week ago.

This Friday the 11th, a man on a motorcycle arrived in the sector and shot two men who were on the corner. Víctor Alonso Borbor Silveria, 37, died upon arrival at the Cisne 2 hospital. He has a record of simple homicide in 2003, robbery in 2006 and possession of substances in 2014.

Meanwhile, Walter Alejandro FR, 30, sustained a facial injury and is in stable condition in another nursing home. The wounded man has a history of drug trafficking in 2016, for robbery in 2017, and was arrested again for drug trafficking in 2020.

On the afternoon of Friday the 11th at the Valle de los Geranios cooperative, next to Los Vergeles, Santiago Díaz, 28, was murdered. Two other men were wounded by gunshots.

Earlier, on the morning of Friday the 11th, at kilometer 7.5 of the road to Daule, there was an attempted murder of a driver. Max P. was shot three times from a motorcycle when he was on his way to work. (I)
