Personnel from the Liberian-flagged merchant ship Revival found and rescued the men while on a sea voyage from the port of Buenaventura (Colombia) to Guayaquil.

After contacting the National Directorate of Aquatic Spaces (Dirnea) by satellite, it was possible to hand over the fishermen to the Ecuadorian Navy, after 6:00 p.m. this Thursday.
