Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev called for additional control over ethnic enclaves, which often become hotbeds of crime. He stated this today during a meeting on the issue of additional measures for the integration and adaptation of migrants in Russian society.

As the deputy head of the Security Council pointed out, “in places where migrants live compactly, there is a risk of the formation of ethnic enclaves.” “This is a global problem. We also have it in full, ”Interfax quotes Medvedev.

He stressed that these “small states within a state” live by their own laws and ignore the laws of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the Security Council believes that the Russian authorities need to concentrate on the topic of migrant integration, since it causes tension and resonance in society, RIA Novosti notes.

In this regard, Medvedev is convinced that the decree signed on Thursday by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the creation of an interdepartmental commission of the Security Council on migration issues will provide additional tools to regulate state policy in this area, and its composition will be determined in the near future.

Medvedev also believes that the issue of medical examination of foreigners entering Russia for a long time is of great importance in the current epidemiological situation, they should not be a source of dangerous diseases.

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the Security Council criticized the regions for their poor work with migrants.

In general, Medvedev stated, the influx of migrants to Russia is growing, last year it became a third more than in 2020, TASS adds.
