Motorcyclist was killed in a parking lot in Esmeraldas

The driver of a motorcycle was killed with a gunshot when he was at a passenger transport stop located on Olmedo and Pichincha streets, in the center of the city of Esmeraldas.

This new violent death in the style of hit men happened at around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday the 10th, according to reports from emergency entities.

The victim was identified as Pablo Bazurto Toala, 21, who received a projectile at the height of the right occipital while talking with co-workers at the passenger stop located near the Sagrado Corazón fiscomisional educational unit.

The father of the deceased told the police officers that his son was dedicated to transporting passengers on his motorcycle, on the way up to Santa Cruz. He said he did not know if he had problems with someone and said that a month ago, another of his children suffered an attempted murder.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim has no judicial record and it is presumed that this case would be related to retaliation by criminal groups.

Joffre García, police commander of the Esmeraldas District, who arrived at the scene of the crime, said that they have indications of the alleged perpetrators of this crime.

Coordination was made with the specialized units for the analysis of the scene and also the search for the cause of this new act of blood, based on records from the video surveillance cameras of the ECU911 integrated system and versions of witnesses.

Bazurto Toala’s body was transferred by Legal Medicine to the Esmeraldas Forensic Center. (I)
