RBC: Single men spend more on gifts on Valentine’s Day than married men

Men in unregistered relationships, on average, spend more money on gifts on Valentine’s Day than married men (3.2 thousand rubles and 2.8 thousand rubles, respectively), RBC reports citing a survey by the SuperJob portal.

At the same time, married and unmarried women buy gifts for the same amount – an average of about 2 thousand rubles.

Men and women under 34 plan to spend the most on gifts for partners. At the same time, in comparison with last year, expenses on Valentine’s Day increased for all categories of respondents, except for unmarried women.

Muscovites spend the most on gifts to their loved ones: husbands plan to spend an average of 2,900 rubles on their wives, and 3,300 rubles on boys on girls. Girls give gifts to partners for 2.3 thousand rubles, and wives of husbands – for 2.2 thousand rubles. In St. Petersburg, men spend 300-400 rubles less, women – 600 rubles less. Following are Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Novosibirsk.

The survey involved 1.6 thousand Russians over 18 from all regions of the country.
