A 32-year-old man, identified as Ángel Galarza Pacheco, was killed while visiting his father’s house in the Guayaquil suburb.
The violent attack was recorded on Wednesday night on Francisco Segura streets between 47 and 48.
Police in charge of the investigation indicated that before the attack a motorcycle went to the area and verified the presence of the citizen at the scene.
A man was stabbed in Paraíso de la Flor, in the northwest of Guayaquil. There are already 124 violent deaths in Zone 8
Then, a gray vehicle approached and a man got out of the car and headed towards the victim to end his life.
The body of the injured man was left on the road. Paramedics from the Fire Department gave him first aid and took him to a nearby public hospital, where his death was confirmed.
He received at least eight shots in the abdomen, chest and left arm.
Eight violent deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in Guayaquil; this year there are 62 murders in Zone 8
The victim had a criminal record for murder in 2010, according to police.
The now deceased lived in the Guasmo sector, but was “taking refuge” in the home of his relatives due to some threat from a criminal gang, said Wilson Torres, police chief of the Portete District.
With this new act of blood, Zone 8, made up of Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón, adds at least 134 violent deaths so far this year. (I)
