Portoviejo
Steven Holguín Macías, 27, was murdered early this Thursday in the La Libertad 2 sector, Andrés de Vera parish, in the southeast of Portoviejo.
Witnesses pointed out that Holguín came to live in the sector a few months ago, and some people did not even know his name.

Presumably the victim was fleeing from those who wanted to kill him, and before entering the place where he lived, he was attacked with bullets; other neighbors, on the other hand, mentioned that Holguín was in the doorway of his house drinking when he was killed by people who were traveling on a motorcycle.
The police were investigating the details of the event, in a crime that increased the violent deaths recorded in Manabí to 41 so far in 2022.
The number of murders in Portoviejo so far this year reached 13 in a canton where 25 bloodshed were recorded last year. (I)
