On the eve of the arrival in Moscow of British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the London colleagues to change the tone of their rhetoric. This is stated in a release on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representatives of the Russian ministry emphasize that, despite the difference in positions, Moscow stands for an equal dialogue and proceeds from its usefulness and content. The Foreign Ministry stressed that London must understand that there will be no productive interaction without a change in tone.

They also stated that today Russian-British relations are “at a low point.”

Earlier, Elizabeth Truss stated that in the event of an “invasion”, London would help Kiev, but would not fight for it. In addition, she announced “measures to tighten the sanctions legislation” directed against the Russian Federation, and said that Germany was ready to impose sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the event of Russia’s “attack” on Ukraine.

Earlier, Truss flew to Moscow on an official visit. She is expected to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the situation around Ukraine on February 10.
