Russians are more actively preparing for the celebration of Valentine’s Day on February 14 than last year, RBC reports citing data from the Ozon online store.

According to these data, compared with last year, the demand for “gift” goods, dresses, jewelry and toys has noticeably increased. At the same time, the category of underwear showed the greatest growth: its sales in pieces increased 11 times compared to the same period last year.

At the same time, lace jumpsuits and bodysuits are the most popular, although last year, customers more often chose separate sets. Demand for stockings, which are often bought together with underwear, increased by 4.5 times in early February compared to last year. In addition, the volume of orders for evening and cocktail dresses increased six times.

In the category of jewelry, which is also among the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts, gold rings were the leader of growth. Demand for them has increased by more than five times compared to last year, both for wedding rings and for engagement rings with a diamond.

The demand for soft toys has quadrupled, and decorative cosmetics and perfumes are bought 2.5 times more often this year than last year.
