The Vsevolozhsk city court of Leningradskaya condemned Sergei Shpak, who killed his wife with an ax, to 9 and a half years in prison. This is reported by the prosecutor’s office of the region.

“The court found that in the daytime on 11/11/2020, Sergey Shpak, armed with an OSA barrelless pistol and an ax, appeared at his wife’s place of work – to the premises of a beauty salon located in the building of the Leader shopping complex in Vsevolozhsk, where on the grounds of personal hostility, he aimed at least three times from the indicated pistol at the head and torso of his wife, after falling to the floor, he struck her at least 12 blows with an ax on the head and various parts of the body, which caused the death of the latter at the scene from a complex of bodily injuries received ,” the ministry said in a statement.

“Taking into account the actual circumstances of the case, the special gravity and public danger of the crime committed, the court sentenced the killer to 9 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Also, compensation for non-pecuniary damage was recovered from the offender in favor of the brother of the murdered woman, who took custody of a young child left without a mother, in the amount of 1 million rubles.

Recall that Shpak was detained on suspicion of the brutal murder of his wife in November 2020.
