Problems of overcrowding in classrooms should be solved in other ways than by banning migrant children from attending schools, says Yulia Markova, chairman of the primary branch of the Uchitel trade union. In a commentary to a Rosbalt correspondent, the St. Petersburg educator criticized the idea of State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov and found in it the prerequisites for dividing society.

“For me, such statements sound wild. You know, I am a man of the old Soviet formation. At that time, universal literacy was in the first place, and the national question was not raised in schools. I still hold the opinion that it is unacceptable to hang labels, it jars me. If a person lives in Russia, including legally, then how can we talk about paid education? Markova was outraged.

In her opinion, the problem of overcrowding in classes should be solved through the construction of new schools, the involvement of new teachers in the field of education.

“This is a government task. But we see on the ground supposedly effective management, optimization, everyone is interested in the issue of saving budget funds, ”summed up the trade unionist.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov, on the air of the Public News Service, proposed banning migrant children from attending Russian schools due to the problem of overcrowding in classes. As alternatives, the parliamentarian called the opportunity to stay at home or study in paid educational organizations.
