On the fact of a mass accident on the Rublevsky highway in Moscow with the participation of billionaire Alexei Shepel, a criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the press service of the Moscow traffic police.
According to preliminary data, the accident happened due to the fact that the businessman lost consciousness while driving.
It all happened on the afternoon of February 8, when Shepel was driving along Rublyovka towards the region and at some point crashed into a Volkswagen. In total, 9 cars were involved in the accident – Mercedes S350, two Volkswagen Polo, Mercedes 7843H2, Toyota Highlander, Kia K5, Lada Largus, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Venza.
It turned out that Shepel’s car had been caught more than once in violation of traffic rules. Since the beginning of the year alone, his Mercedes has exceeded the speed limit eight times, according to REN TV.
Earlier it was reported that Shepel was hospitalized as a result of the accident. He said he had a heart attack. In addition, the woman driving the Toyota, her passenger and the driver of the Volkswagen Polo were injured.
