The Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg approved an appeal to the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko due to the high cost of tests to detect coronavirus, a Rosbalt correspondent reports.

According to Pavel Krupnik, head of the United Russia faction, in pharmacies products are sold at prices ranging from 646 to 3 thousand rubles.

“Tests are not only a means of detecting the presence of coronavirus in the body, but also a form of prevention of its spread. In St. Petersburg, if a citizen does not have a QR code, a PCR test is necessary to visit catering establishments, fitness clubs, mass events, including for people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, ”Krupnik said.

He also advocated price regulation for coronavirus prevention drugs.

The appeal was approved by 45 votes of deputies. Nobody spoke out against it.

We add that the initiative to turn to Murashko became known in early February. The parliamentarians explained the necessity of the appeal by the growing social tension.

As a reminder, from February 21, Russians will be able to receive QR codes for antibody tests.
