The Supreme Court of Russia, at the suit of the Ministry of Justice, decided to liquidate the party “Good deeds, protection of children, women, freedom, nature and pensioners, against violence against animals.” As RBC clarifies with reference to the press service of the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice in its statement of claim drew attention to the provision of the law on parties, according to which a political party can be liquidated, in particular, if it does not participate in elections.

As specified, the Good Deeds Party was established in 2014, including for the purpose of “participating in public and political actions, in elections and referendums.”

The main goal of the association is “to do good deeds everywhere”.

The party in its program, in particular, proposed to create the best conditions for doing business, to exempt pensioners, the disabled, large families and students from taxes and rent, and to give journalists immunity similar to that of a deputy.

The party stressed that it is not an opposition party and supports “all positive initiatives” of the Russian authorities.
