If Belarus begins to limit the supply of energy resources to Ukraine, ordinary people will suffer. Such a statement, according to UNN, was made by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

He recalled that the other day “one person from Belarus” said that if there was an escalation, they would immediately stop supplying energy resources to Ukraine.

According to Zelensky, he got acquainted with the statistics of trade between Ukraine and Belarus, according to which the trade turnover between the countries is about $6 billion. Of these, Ukraine exports $1.5 billion to Belarus, and Belarus exports $4.5 billion to Ukraine.

Zelensky stressed that if countries begin to restrict trade with each other, then ordinary people will eventually suffer.

“If there is a desire to go to the Stone Age, we can do this: Belarus will ban something, then Ukraine will ban it. But who is suffering? Politicians always decide, but, unfortunately, people suffer,” Zelensky added.

Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko threatened to stop the supply of fuel and lubricants and electricity to Ukraine if the Ukrainian authorities initiate an aggravation with Russia or in the Donbass.
