The Metropolitan Public Company for Comprehensive Solid Waste Management (Emgirs) reported, through a bulletin, that the rubble removed from the alluvium in the sectors of La Comuna and La Gasca will be deposited in the dumps authorized by the Municipality, located in San Antonio de Pichincha and Oyacoto, at the north end of the capital.
The Emgirs communication department informed this newspaper that the rubble (mud, rocks, trees, remains of vegetation and debris from collapsed structures) were deposited in an area of the Bicentennial park temporarily.
This, after an analysis by the metropolitan Emergency Operations Committee (COE), which decided that that point was strategic due to its location close to the affected area.
Videos were published on social networks of the inhabitants of the Rumiñahui neighborhood claiming for the debris disposal in the north wing of this park.
According to the Emgirs statement, they plan to remove all the debris from the park, in 15 days approximately.
The San Antonio de Pichincha dump has a daily capacity of 2,000 cubic meters. In Oyacoto they receive 360 cubic meters. (I)
