Pope Francis sends a message to the victims of the flood in La Comuna and La Gasca, in the north center of Quito

The Ecuadorian Episcopal Conference shared on his Twitter account a message sent by the Pope Francisco those affected by the alluvium of last January 31, 2022, in The Commune and La Gasca, in the north center of Quito.

“The Holy Father, deeply embarrassed to learn about natural disasters that are affecting that beloved nation and that have caused so many victims and material damage, offer fervent suffrages for the eternal rest of the deceased”, says the document.

He also maintains that the pope begs the Lord to grant the consolation to the bereaved and all the people who suffer after the flood passed.

In addition, it sends a message of resistance for the rescuers who continue with the search jobs of a missing person.

According to the latest report from the Security Secretariat of Quito, with a cutoff date of Sunday, February 6, at 6:00 p.m., 28 deceased, 52 wounded and a missing person.

“Pope Francis, while asking our Lady of Quinche to intercede before his son Jesus Christ for all sons and daughters of Ecuador affected by this catastrophe, affectionately imparts to them the comforting apostolic blessing, as a sign of spiritual closeness”, concludes the letter signed by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State.
