The Ecuadorian Transit Commission (CTE) reported on the arrest of a server who works in the Citations and Parties offices, on av. Juan Tanca Marengo, in the north of Guayaquil.
The institution alerted this Monday, February 7, about the alleged request of $ 60 from a worker of the entity to a citizen for the process of prescription of fines.
Personnel from the Judicial Police and the Interior supported the intervention in the face of the alleged act of corruption.
They steal $ 9,000 from the offices of the CTE, in the north of Guayaquil
Meanwhile, the executive director, Carlos Eloy Balarezo, replied to the complaint about the detained person.
“Bad officials must be punished as the law indicates,” Balarezo said on Twitter.
The CTE, in a statement, indicated that it will continue to fight against acts of corruption.
That fine prescription procedure is completely free and can be done online, added the director.
On previous occasions, the executive director has remarked that there is rooted corruption in different areas of the entity.
Due to these problems, the area for issuing licenses that was in charge of the CTE, on Brasil and Chimborazo streets, in the center, stopped working weeks ago.
Since last October, the CTE has had new offices in Parque Samanes to handle 26 vehicle procedures.
In that place, users can carry out 26 vehicular procedures such as certificates of infractions record, lien or legal impediment, report for theft, domain history, update of data and vehicle information. (I)
