Petersburgers with signs of SARS and suspected coronavirus from February 6 can open a sick leave remotely. The order was explained in the city administration.

Patients with a mild course of infection can apply for a doctor’s call on 122. The robotic system will ask a few questions and offer to open the sick leave remotely. The data will be sent to the clinic at the place of residence, then the doctor will call the applicant and clarify the state of health.

“If the symptoms of the disease do not cause concern, after recommendations for treatment, the patient will be given a sick leave for 7 days. It can also be closed remotely – with the help of an audio consultation without a visit to the clinic,” the press service said.

From February 9, the service will also be available on the Gorzdrav Internet portal.

Petersburgers thanked for the opportunity to open a sick leave online. So, one of the users wrote on social networks that she got through to the 122 service without any problems, she was immediately called back from the clinic, and the very next day they promised to come to pick up a smear.

Others criticized the actions of the authorities and called the initiative “beyond reason.”

“Your innovation will lead to the fact that in a week half the city will be on sick leave, and not all of those who call will be really sick, and those who really need help may not wait,” the user wrote.

The townspeople supported the dissatisfied and added that those “who tell more” will use the service.

“You give legal absenteeism,” they ironize in social networks.

Last Sunday, St. Petersburg overtook Moscow in the number of new cases of coronavirus per day. Another 21,448 infected have been registered in the city.
