Russian political scientist Gleb Pavlovsky believes that Russia’s “aggression” and the likely “war” with Ukraine are explained by the approaching time for the departure of Russian President Vladimir Putin from the leadership of the country. The expert expressed this opinion on the air of the radio station “Echo of Moscow”.
“We don’t know how it will be, Putin doesn’t know how it will be, but, in general, he is being pushed to the edge. Shifts, of course, age, physiology – but people in the Kremlin also shift, ”Pavlovsky is quoted by Gordon.
In his opinion, the “war” is also “connected with his (Putin’s – ed.) idea of transit (power in Russia – ed.).” “It is partly rational, he does not want, at a moment of weakness (and the moment of transition of power is always a weak moment), to be controlled by some people who do not speak Russian well. And he is in a hurry to solve all the problems right now, ”the expert is convinced.
Earlier, political scientist Dmitry Oreshkin suggested on Espreso.TV that the Kremlin would “revenge” Ukraine for the defeat in the information war. “Putin is not ready for a major military operation, he was not ready, and he does not want a war. But he also cannot say: “Sorry, I lost” … He will not be able to take revenge on Ukraine for a rather obvious defeat in the information war, where he has always been stronger than anyone, ”the expert noted.
Recall that back in November-December last year, the world media was filled with the topic of the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions that should follow. According to the authors and experts of these publications, a sign of “invasion” is the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine. Among the likely sanctions are both the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as restrictions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT interbank settlement system.
