Six violent deaths have been recorded since Friday the 4th in Zone 8, which includes the Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón cantons.
After 2:40 p.m. on Friday, a subject was murdered outside a building located in the El Limonal cooperative, in the north of Guayaquil. At least eight shots were fired at the victim, identified as Ronald Rodríguez.
Later, a man was found dead inside a home located in the Abel Gilbert cooperative, in the Durán canton.

His body had several gunshot wounds. Police personnel collected six pieces of evidence at the crime scene.
The deceased had two criminal records for crimes related to drug trafficking.
Lawyer Eduardo Vera was also shot at one block from the Durán Prosecutor’s Office. Paramedics from the Ecuadorian Traffic Commission (CTE) treated him at the scene and he was transferred to a hospital in Guayaquil.

Another man of approximately 49 years was gunned down on 24th and Bolivia streets, in the southwest of Guayaquil. Subjects on a motorcycle intercepted the victim and fired several shots at him. His body was left lying on the road.
On Friday night, two adolescents were murdered in the Nueva Prosperina sector, in the northwest of Guayaquil. A shootout was recorded in the area, in which children under 14 and 17 were shot.
They were transferred to the University Hospital, on the Perimetral road, where it was confirmed that they had died.
Around 10:30 p.m., a man was killed with two shots in the Los Esteros citadel, south of Guayaquil, a few blocks from the Police Community Surveillance Unit (UVC).
