The Russian authorities are not yet ready to invade the territory of Ukraine, but are already at the last stage of planning a military operation. This is reported by The New York Times, citing sources in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to experts, Moscow can prepare for an “invasion” within a few weeks. At the moment, there are already enough military near the borders of Ukraine, but the entire infrastructure, such as supply lines, has not yet been built. Also, the deployment of hospitals and communications systems, the transfer of aircraft and the military, the sources say.
The newspaper points out that over the past two weeks, about 10,000 Russian military personnel have been deployed to Crimea, and some of the units on the peninsula have been put on high alert. In addition, a unit of the National Guard was sent to Crimea – according to Kiev, it can be used “to control the occupied territory.”
